El Capitan bathed in filtered sunlight from firestorm cloud of 1990.
El Capitan bathed in filtered sunlight from firestorm cloud of 1990. The cloud is from the large Stamboat Fire that closed Yosemite for several weeks and burned over 60 homes in Foresta. This cloud was like a huge A-Bomb cloud and was the result of Foresta burning in a huge fire storm.

Another photo I took from the 1980's showing the alpenglow we used to get. Sunsets like this are far and few between these days due to the central valley smog. This photo has not been altered in any way, scanned Fuji Vlevia 35mm slide.

Sunset on Half Dome, Yosemite
I took this shot sometime in the 80's and it shows the alpenglow that we used to get at sunsets. In recent years it seems that we rarely get alpenglow as I think the smog in the Central Valley cuts off the last light.
